Adaptive Athlete Apparel Project

Built by a Player,
For the Game

My name is Judah Thacker, and I am the founder of the Adaptive Athlete Apparel Project. I am a rising senior at Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in Chicago. After volunteering with a local wheelchair basketball team, I observed a glaring discrepancy within wheelchair basketball programs. Growing up playing basketball, I was so happy to see others enjoying the game I loved; so much, in fact, that from the first practice I attended I knew that I wanted to make an impact. With that said, I decided to target a constantly overlooked part of the game. The gear!

As much as I love the sport itself, my favorite part of the game may have actually been the jerseys, shoes, and other apparel. Because of this love, when choosing what impact I want to make on the wheelchair basketball community, I decided to help the players look good so they can feel good and, of course, play good.

Why AAAP Exists & Its Mission

Combine my passions for basketball, design, finance, and apparel to create and provide adaptive basketball apparel that athletes can wear with pride.

Provide high-quality, professional jerseys and gear to wheelchair basketball athletes and programs at no cost, ensuring adaptive athletes have the same standards of representation, pride, and professionalism as those in mainstream sports programs.
